Instead of the traditional needles and threads, on women’s hands nowadays are joysticks and keypads of the latest games. No, this is not a protest over the domestic roles they normally hold, but due to a number of reasons. Here is the list on why more women are playing video games.

Really all I use my computer for is my stock market software, but my wife likes to play games to that lead me to my question. First of them is the growing interest and involvement in technology. More girls are learning about new and varied fields, leading them to higher self esteem and knowing they can do whatever boys can. When we say technology, not only washing machines, vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens are the things that women are involved with. The new graphics and sound effects in video games are fascinating and do not escape the attention of women. They don’t mind making mistakes or playing around to learn the buttons, so they are learning.

Another factor is the financial stability. As girls hold paying jobs they can both afford to play video games, and deserve to as a stress reliever. However, be assured that there are times the practical nature would kick in and prefer for equipment far more essential to everyday chores before indulging in the cyber entertainment. This is a major reason why more girls are playing xBox as it is one of the negatives of achievement.

The third major reason is that game development has focused a lot more on women than it used to. Lots of games focus on action and adventure, mostly they are set in the war field. There are a lot of women in the world (ha ha yeah 52%) so game developers are starting to see this large potential market, and so more games are being created for them. More games today are targeted at the female demographic with softer graphics and story-lines, even tho these games are also popular with many males.

The number four reason is pure enjoyment, the same reason as most men. Cross stitching, baking and cooking are not the only activities that a woman’s hobby is limited to as it has expanded along with the advancement of technology. Don’t be surprised to find a woman with a gaming console during her free time. One good game for women is cheap phantom hourglass.

Fifth reason why more women are playing video games is to be in a competition against the men. Although this competition is friendly, they take place and all try to get a high achievement and that achievement makes them winners.

The way that society thinks has changed. Forgotten are the times when men didn’t like women to do things besides take care of the house and family. When more girls play video games, there is now a point of interest shed between males and females that they can compete in. Adding up video games in the list of introductory topics such as books, politics, sports and movies can also stimulate conversation on a first date. Apart from social benefits of women being able to play video games, the enjoyment probably outweighs any benefit by giving women a good avenue of expression and a place to vent their frustration. If things keep going like this I will have to for christmas cheap legend of zelda.

The new Xbox Live experience is looking promising and I can’t wait. It is going to be tight!

A number of hands-on articles have gone up today about the New Xbox Experience (NXE), which will be rolled out as a free update to all Xbox 360 owners on 19 November.

Xbox 360 Codes
You can get a good feel for the new interface (still in Beta) in this video.

Even hardcore gamers will love the new interface, says our sister site GamesRadar.

Xbox 360 Walkthrough
I’m really looking forward to the NXE (despite the fact that the UK won’t get the Netflix support that’s impressed many testers. Will Blockbuster step in?). What with Windows 7 breaking cover, Microsoft is having a good month. We’ll brush the Zune under the carpet for now.

It not only looks beautifully Apple-esque, but it’s also surprisingly fast considering the greater visual complexity. It’s a big improvement over the original ‘blade’ navigation, which continues to survive in teeny-tiny form as a quick launch menu.

Old Xbox, New Xbox Experience

The redesigned interface is only a part of an aggressive strategy. As the NXE launches, Microsoft will also roll out new community games to boost the massive roster of downloadable content that’s available on Xbox Live.

The NXE is the latest salvo in a next-gen console war that’s increasingly being won by Microsoft. OK, considering the runaway success of the Nintendo Wii, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are bogged down in a tussle for second place. But few would argue that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is a compelling buy as Christmas approaches.

According to Engadget, the Community Games channel on NXE “allows XNA developers to distribute their games in an App Store-like environment.” Considering the runaway success of Apple’s online store for the iPhone and iPod touch, this can only be a good thing.

Beating the PlayStation 3

Xbox 360 Elite

There’s a crumb of comfort for Sony. The PlayStation 3 might not be able to compete on price, but it’s still one of the best (and cheapest) Blu-ray players you can buy. If there’s a demand for HD movies this Christmas, the PS3 will sell well. As to whether you should buy into Blu-ray… that’s another question

Microsoft also has one of its best gaming line-ups going into the Christmas period. Fable II has already hit (and to great acclaim), while gamers are eager to get their post-apocalyptic groove on with Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2.

Crucially, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 will be the cheapest console on sale this Christmas. Sony has reiterated that it won’t be dropping the price of the PS3 any time soon. While the 60GB Xbox 360 is cheaper than the Wii.
